I am thinking about buying electric bikes for the first time so don't want to buy the best yet.
What do the ebike riders think about the elife regency at £499.
All feedback welcome.

Is it from a shop or online? I wouldn't feel I knew enough about bikes to buy one online incase it needed setting up right

Depends on what you want to use it for.my wife has a front wheel driven bike. Not had any problems with traction or going up hills. It's two years old now still going strong. But she only goes on cycle track's and quiet roads .

Unless you have tried out the bike you are buying I wouldn't have thought it possible to buy online. Frame geometry varies between manufacturers, two bikes of the same size from diffent manufacturers, ride one & find it's fine & the other could me most uncomfortable.
Must own up to buying our e-bikes online but I had tried the model out first, would have been nice to buy from a shop but at £550 difference each in price that was just too much.

We tried an AS front wheel drive bike, trying to set off and turn at the same time on a loose surface was a bit frantic, we went for a crank drive, which felt more "sure footed".

As said earlier I would not purchase a bike without ensuring the fit is correct. Can cause unnecessary pain riding a bike when the fit is wrong.

Bought an e life 20 inch wheel bike with front drive hub and it performs very well. I have been towing a child trailer with a spaniel in it and it is responsive with sufficient power. Yes, you do have to be careful on loose gravel but, going uphill on solid surfaces is fine.

If you're not going to use it much, a £500 bike may do.
When you're ready to buy a "proper" bike, just chuck it in the hedge.

My wife has an “ e life “ and I have an AS, we are happy with them, they do the job for what we want, which is a short ride into the local village for a large gin and tonic
