Hi all,
I would like to know if the forum is only for Motohomes and RV's or are selfbuilds included, as i think i could be in the wrong place here.

Hello Vandam this forum is about Motorhomes and all aspects of travelling with one, It doesn't really matter if you bought it or built it. But I do envy those that have the patience and skills to build.

We do have a couple of members who have built their own, and we have a specific forum Link Removed but it is empty as yet. Why not be the first to post details about your self-build, it would interest many I am sure.

There is a dedicated self build forum Link Removed

And Motorhomefacts has a forum with about 10 informative threads running

Thanks for that, I do like the Motohomes and RV's but due to ill health i know i can never afford one but one can dream and admire them some of the ones on here are absolutely fantastic, i have my selfbuild van and am happy to be able to enjoy being able to get out and about in it.
One more question, how many motohomers and RV'ers would acknowledge a selfbuild van if a selfbuilder gave them a wave, in all honesty i personaly don't think there would be a large percentage that would or am i just being paranoid?

Hey Vandam.
I just put up a couple of pics of my selfbuild Transit in my gallery to make you feel better.
It cost me 650 quid and i lived in it for a year.
Complete with:
Hot and cold water,
2 Gas hobs,
Grill,
Oven,
Microwave,
3 way fridge,
21 inch plasma TV with Digibox,
Double slide out bed,
And mobile internet.
All powered by 3 Dump Truck batteries fitted on a breaker to the engine for charging.
2 Hours charging for 48 hours of power.
It was fitted with Celotex insulation then laminated completely from floor to ceiling before i fitted the wardrobe, worktop and shelving.
No windows so really discreet for wildcamping :thumb:
It looked like a heap of junk but it saved me enough money to get my first Motorhome.:thumb:
