Have seen a few of those things in North Africa, mostly driven by Germans.
When on the road they look like a normal but big 4x4 truck with no windows in the body....The amasing thing happens when they park up...They are built like 2xboxes one inside the other and at the flick of a hydrolic lever the inner box goes up,complet with windows.
Very secure and very roomy, bit like an American slideout but it goes up instead of out.
The only downside I can see is driving on tarmac roads from North Europe, must be damn noisy with those tyres.

I was chatting to an Italian guy in The Gambia earlier on this year who was travelling in something similar, but not nearly as swish.

That is gorgeous. Love the way it is fitted out very minimalist and modern.

If that's a garbage truck, I'm a Dutchman! (apologies to continental neighbours...)

I remember seeing a website detailing the build of this overlander.
A mezzanine floor and fitted storage jars don't equate to garbage truck...

The germans are experts in home conversions, they are big on them.In fact you can buy your conversion equipment off the shelf in DIY stores! I have known people to drive over in a van to get these kits.
