Some pictures of my first ever trip to France in 1972 with my wife Nancy.

We went to the south coast and came back via Switzerland .. a three week trip I will never forget ..

Great pics, proper 70's is that you with the long blond hair sat on the convertible?
The topless one reminded me of when i was really little. We were in Cornwall somewhere , and a bunch of hippy's came over to where we were. The 3 women took there t.shirts off and were topless. Tiny little bikini bottoms on and big floppy hats. My dad spent the afternoon getting me and my 2 brothers to play in the sand near them and then take photos over our heads He had a yellow Capri with a black vinyl roof then.
It was 1972.

Abroad - Majorca, apartment holiday in Palma Nova, 1968 or 1969 (there were fields with black and white cows in, in between Palma Nova and Magaluf) with boyfriend, who later became my first husband

Camping - Cornwall, with same chap, now engaged, 1969 or 1970

Camping abroad - Italy, via Switzerland, September 1971 with same chap, my first husband, my sister, bro-in-law and 18 month old nephew in their VW Devon caravanette - we took a tent but all travelled in the van.

I have no surviving photos of either! LOL

PS I tried unsuccessfully to increase the size of the pic with the white bikini, it looks amazingly like the one I had for the Italian job!!!

Thanks, I am fortunate they survived, they are 35mm slides.. and yes it is me :Blush:

Dartmouth Devon 1970 under canvas with then husband, a great time listening to the thunder and the rain but as I remember we didn't care as we were on our honeymoon !

First ever trip abroad for us ( Me, my sister, Mum & Dad )........1960 driving down through France & Switzerland to near Viariggio in Italy in Dad's Humber Hawk. Took us about a week to get there and a week to drive back. I was 6 years old. :Blush:

That is us on Dover ferry, Italian Alps & Pisa

Great pics and a lovely motor too.

Sadly, I have no photos of my childhood as we never had any holidays. I did not start holidays until I was with Nikki. I will scan some of our early trips to France up back in the early 90s

I had a Mini cooper 1968 with the twin SU SETUP.:thumb:

Had great fun tuning it up....

No clearer really - it's that wide belt on the bottoms! although I rather thing my buckle may have been oblong - it was silver though!!!

(Typical, all the blokes going Aaaah (Condor) Twin SU's! and here's me going, I had a bikini like that!)

Virulent colour really wasn't it? (Daytona Yellow!) MkI had a MkI Capri, Imperial Maroon with a Dove Grey roof. Woodrim steering wheel. Later had a "new" Capri - 1600 GT - Imperial Maroon with a black vinyl roof.

nine months after the French trip we needed a larger car

22 years on from the first trip I had first holiday with my family and we drove to L'Estartit on Costa Brava, Spain in my L reg Escort Estate exactly the same as yours only RED :thumb: Great car except that i had to take a hammer with us as the starter motor had a habit of sticking when it was cold oh:


Sadly, no photos of car or of me as I was the photographer but one of Mum & Dad (22 years older), 6 months pregnant Mrs Jinks and 1st daughter Kelly (now 29)

First trip, 1972, Gibralta by way of Tangiers (Spanish border closed at that time)
8 blokes, one bird, 1959 Bedford dormobile "Workobus", I think !
Had to push start it every morning.
Always regret not having a camera on that trip, but when your heading for Morocco and your just nineteen you have other things on your mind.
Happy days, .......well the ones I remember.
