I was lying on my back looking up under the dashboard of
my Hymer 584
(As you do)
When I saw what appears to be an extra switch that works off the clutch pedal arm.

I don,t have cruise control fitted that i know of, but would like it

Now what,s it for?

I am sure there,s a funster out there who knows :thumb:

Do you have to press the clutch down for the starter motor to work?

Are the brake and clutch pedals physically the same?

The pedals are basicly the same and i don,t have to press the clutch to start the engine
The switch that works off the clutch pedal is white and looks newer than that on the brake

If your motorhome has the JTD engine the clutch switch id factory fitted. It is there to tell the engine management system that the clutch pedal has been depressed and to therefore limit the power produced to prevent over-revving. You should also find that if you press the brake with your left foot while driving the engine power will cut back after about a second. Some Ducatos that have been remapped/chipped lose this.

I do wonder how much use cruise control on a manual is. You still have to do all the thinking and work in hilly terrain.

Be OK on the M1 though. But avoid M6 north of Preston.

But on those lonnnnnnnnng French roads, cruise is an absolute Godsend.

Cruise control is a godsend on any vehicle be it manual or auto. Cost depends on the vehicle its being fitted to but ball park price of between £330 and £435 (less 5% discount for funsters of course but only if you remind us at the time of fitting).
