My monaco when putting out the slide the canopy on top of the slide has lost tension so when putting the slide back in you have to roll the canopy back by hand. How do I get the tension back. It's going out on hire thursday

If its just gone soggy Lyndon
Then to re tension you need to remove the end caps and apply more turns to the springs, this is done by removing the securing screws pulling out slightly and turning the end caps, in the right direction of course Beware when removing cos they are/might be already under tension
If it has lost all its tension and is hanging when you close the slide
chances are you have broken a spring inside the roller
I'd give Duncan a shout

This is definitely not an easy repair and really needs two people to 're-roll' the tension back into the internal spring.

I really do suggest that you leave it to an 'expert' because you can do a lot of harm to yourself and to the RV. If you overtension the topper then you can stop the slide going in and out properly which will allow water ingress into the RV past the rubber 'buffers'.

It is not a difficult job but it does require more than one pair of hands and a little knowledge does help!
