After a frustrating time, waiting for the spondoolies to be available, seeing our dream van in Germany be sold before we could do anything, we are at last ready to act when the next dream van comes up.
So, on to number two van on our possible next van list and a massive THANK YOU to two lovely Funsters @Terry and @Lisa for checking out a van with a dealer in Doncaster.
It looked stunning in the photos and the website listing ticked all the boxes of the extras we wanted to be on the next van. Several phone conversations later and alarm bells started to ring, contradictions in what was actually on the van and what wasn't. We were down in the New Forest due to Colin working and was willing to drive all the way to Doncaster with our current van to agree a trade in offer and finally look at the potential new one. However as said, alarm bells were ringing. A quick phone call to Terry and a secret shopper mission was agreed. After seeing to the horses, Sherlock and Holmes set off armed with phone camera's to gather evidence on our behalf, and what a brilliant job they did. Sadly the van was very tired and worn, not as listed on the website and a big disappointment.
Anyway, here is our wish list, just in case any other supa dupa Funsters know of a suitable van coming up for sale.
*Van must be on an Iveco Chassis rated at 6,700 or there abouts.
*Must be left hand drive
*Big garage with doors either side
*Twin or island bed.
*Preferable Euro 5 but might consider Euro 4
*Big Fridge Freezer
*Ideally Auto Levellers and Air suspension
*85cm Sat Dish.
*Solar and at least two reasonable sized hab batteries, although of course we can add more.
On our list is or has been the following:-
Concorde Carver or Charisma
Carthago Highliner
Carthago S-Plus
N+B Flair
Not much to ask for is it
I suspect we will end up going on our next winter tour in this current van and starting to look again next spring and importing from Germany or Belgium. But I thought it worth asking on here anyway.
