Also there is a car park opposite the Thatch which is probably for the pub, maybe they would let you stay there for one night if you were using the pub, they do good food as well or at least they did the last time i was there.
isn't there a place for motorhomes to stay over night at baggy point?Don't use the National Trust car park in Baggy Point, you will get locked in and the Rangers take a somewhat dim view of those that deliberately try to get locked in overnight.

It dosent say you can stay overnight though? or am i missing it?Mike RV's original suggestion was actually pretty good, it's free between 6pm and 8am has a motorhome bay and is just across from Orchard camping which you know so close to everything.

I started to go there in my splitscreen 20 years ago and its gone mad there, campsites where chilled and not expensive would let you stay for one night etc, money has spoilt the place! I don't blame the campsites owners for wanting to make money but they've got very greedy, Still enjoy the vibe there though but we hardly go back nowadays.I don’t know why but I hate Croyde.
We booked in for ( and paid for ) a week on a site last May but left after 3 nights.
I hated the pubs and restaurants and the general feel of the place.
The highlight of the stay was some pretty crappy fish and chips we ate from the site chippy ( in the rain)
Sorry to hijack the thread.

Just spent time on Churchfields at Appledore and the pay and display machine has a specific button and instructions for motorhome overnights. It is being policed by Torridge Council. There are quite a lot of carparks with Motorhome bays in the Torridge North Devon area. The official policy is that its not for overnights but common knowledge that they re not policing it.
Not sure about the parking in Croyde sorry but there is a lorry park in Barnstaple, they re normally OK if you are sensible.
And the one round the corner is called south16 which in my opinion is much better.Hi its called Squires

I was down there in july, as a family we don't get there anymore i preffer to surf at saunton tbh,we tend to go to wales more now away from the idiotsYou will notice a difference now if you have not been for a while, new housing springing up here and there and at Saunton along the top road. The pubs are busy on the weekends full of all the gear no idea surfers. I still like the place but much preferred it 30 years ago. Be interesting to see what you think if you have not been for a while. Have a good trip.
