You are quite right there, Jim. I think the subject is of interest because of historically cheap diesel prices in mainland Europe and France in particular since this was the closest destination.does it really matter ?
the savings in one fill up is neither here nor there in the cost of the trip.. a drop in the ocean

What are the prices like in Belgium?
Let's hope the French get less tax from the tax hikes. People just avoid it if it becomes too expensive.

When we got to France from Spain called into a super u it was 1.40 also saw it on the motorway 1.56 .
Spoke to a French guy I asked him why are the prices so high he said new tax hikes no idea if this is true .

Don't know about Calais but we drove up through France from Spain to La Baule last week and the cheapest diesel was €1.419 and that was at a supermarket.

Hi Matamoros - whereabouts in La Baule are you? and how long are you staying there?
The reason I ask is that we depart for St Malo on Saturday for a 6 week "early summer" tour of France and (according to current plans - which do change from time to time) we will be at Camping La Falaise in La Turballe for a few days towards the end of June!
