Similar price in France to here, but much cheaper in Spain and more expensive in Portugal. :winky:

Its the toll roads in France you need to worry about

Hi,
We have just returned from France, cheapest deisel we found was 96 euros at supermarket E.Leclerc somewhere Narbonne, (south of France). Supermarkets are always cheapest, most have self service with automatic card payment and pay at kiosk on exit types, beware, some of these are a very tight fit for a MH. Have a good trip watch out for the devilish height restriction barriers at exit of some supermarkets, just a dangling plastic bar but the speed bump placed directly below just produces enough lift to leave a nasty mark on roof vents. In future I shall be looking at the overhead barrier rather than the speed bump !

We have just returned from France and found petrol to be not a lot cheaper than here, but as the other posts say the supermarkets are the cheapest, we did Normandy coasts and cheapest was about 1.13 euros. Stopped at a couple of Aires for the first time and they were very good - would recommend them, takes a bit of the sting out of the fuel prices, we also used non toll roads and found it ok - also got more mpg!!!

Assuming you are running diesel and landing at Calais, the Belgium border is only 35 miles and the pump prices tend to be a bit lower than France.

Only worth doing if you tank up.

Just returned from France (had to drive back from Spain re flight chaos!). Fuel in Spain & France pretty much on par - around 1.15-1.20E for petrol.
Motorway price in France 1.57E so if using then make sure you fill up or go off motorway for fuel.
Just out of interest we traveled through France using toll roads all the way cost was £107 and took 12.5 hrs. used toll roads as they were so much quicker & easier for a fast journey. We have done same journey in campervan not using toll roads & taking several days, depends what you need or want to do.
