any they all seem reliable and cheap as chips these days:thumb:

Just done that, :thumb:

got a Freesat ( not freeview ) box from Argos , £30

plug and play .. scanned itself .. idiot proof ,

with a dedicated Freesat box you also get the EPG ( electronic program guide )

If your tv is built for hd then you will need freesat box that puts out hd....Humax do a good one...Dave

Yes you can, the dish is pointing to the same group of satellites for both sky and freesat. Make sure that you get a HD receiver though.

"Freesat" is the service provided by satellite from Astra 2 group and run by BBC/ITV consortium. "Freeview" is terrestrial digital TV and not compatible with any satellite dish. v There is also a "Free To Air" receiver which will receive any free broadcast satellite signal form just about any satellite in the sky.

Freesat can give you access to the BBC and ITV HD channels but you need a HD receiver and a HD compatible TV connected via a HDMI lead although you could still connect them via SCARt but won't get the HD quality.

Since 2008 after caravanning for 20 years
I can recommend the Humax Foxsat box, very easy to use, brilliant functions and it can handle BBC I-player.

Got one of these when they first came out already paid for itself over Sky Subscription, one of my better decisions, and there aren't many!
