I have a Huawei E5330 and I am having trouble getting on line. Its a Vodaphone unit that has been unlocked and contains a 3 12gb data sim. It shows connected with a strong signal. I have tried switching off and logging back on but get the same results. I wondered if anyone new of a go to guy in Benidorm that might be able to help.

Have you used the Huawei abroad before?

If not it sounds like you need to enable roaming on the mifi. You can download apps for both the mifi and My3.

If you search the Fun forum there are lots of threads covering help with Huawei & 3 mobile.

Yes I have used before in France and Holland. But this trip seems to be a problem. Last time Tonka sorted it out. Would bother but nothing but grief with Armonello WiFi keep having to log on. Anyway I'll take the dog for a walk and check out your info thanks.

Did you buy the Thee SIM lately? If so did you make sure you put it in the wifi and allowed it to connect in the UK before going abroad? That is what you now have to do with PAYG Three SIMs before you can use them abroad.

There was a Brit guy in indoor Beni market that sold local SIMs which were fast and cheap and I bet he'll help you.

I have had the sim for some time and in UK it worked occasionally. Thought it was probably me doing the wrong thing.

Full Time 2011-2013, now part timers!
If you’ve already used 9gb in a month it will shut off until the next month when you can put it back in and use the rest. We activated a sim in Spain in December with no problem.

Went and found Paul. He found the problem. Apparently there was a number required to input but unfortunately I did not have it with me. How it has worked in the past I don't know. Anyway €10 later and another sim and all is good. Thanks for all the help and advice folks.☺

I've just opened a new Three sim I bought a few weeks ago, popped it into my MiFi whilst here in Benidorm, and it worked a treat, as did the last one. (y)

@xsparks. Glad to hear that you are sorted. :)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Short while after a gap of many years.

I have a Huawei too - used it initially but haven’t bothered since!

I find I get all the data and excellent results in most places just using my iPhone on EE contract and if using the laptop or other stuff I use Personal hotspot on iPhone to get internet for those bits of kit! :)

Unlimited free calls and text all Europe and North America - and an excellent data allowance too! :)

Another point - your Huawei sim is likely to be 3 and 4g? Sometimes in difficult areas you will get better data connections with just 3G and with iphone you can opt to set 4G off :)

Same here. Done away with the mifi solution now. Vodafone phone contract, unlimited minutes and 60GB of data per month, enough for streaming tv and radio as well as internet usage, use phone as a hotspot, no limits in Europe, sorted. ( been using it abroad since September and have it in writing no limits and no cut off)
