Hi All
I’ve just had the habitation check done on my Motorhome and just been told there is water ingress, I’ll know more tomorrow when I pick it up.
I think the damp is in the garage the rearmost part in the corner where the floor meets the back panel which I did notice myself.

Anybody got any ideas as to where it might be getting in. I do think it’s not coming up from the road as the vehicle has not been anywhere since Christmas.
Before anybody asks the garage which did the service and habitation check does not repair or do further checks into water damage, how daft is that, I thought doing a habitation check meant they would repair such damage.
I myself can’t see where it could get in as the back panel is from what I understand is one complete panel.
Looks like this may be the 3rd thing which has gone wrong in short succession.
Anyway I would like to know from you good people if you have had a similar problem or you have any good advice.
Many Thanks Tony

Not long enough!
They should give you a form with a motorhome on it showing the various readings and at what points.
See what this says. It might be minimal.
They may have an idea where it's coming in.

Could the water be getting past the door seal on the garage door
Hi Paul and Kate That’s one though, I’ll know more tomorrow when I’ve talked to the guy who did the check. I’m hoping he has some sort of idea.
Best Wishes Tony

i have it on good authority that such laughing is a trigger for leaking. maybe you should get your seals inspected and greased

Our previous van was an AutoTrail Delaware and I had one of the rear garage door seals replaced as water was getting in at the bottom. The join in the seal was at the bottom and I think water was getting through that.
It was never bad enough to cause a problem but might have done if I hadn't insisted they replace it.

Richard.

Our (CI) roof leaked under warranty and was supposedly fixed by the factory. Then it leaked again under extended warranty and was supposedly fixed by the dealership at an estimated cost of £3000 to the warranty provider, well below what we'd paid them to extend. Then a few years later it leaked again and was fixed for £100 cash in hand by our local mobile fitter. It never leaked again after that.

Tony, there's a place in Fordingbridge that do caravan repairs, I've used them to repair my fridge in the past. The name escapes me, but there can't be too many places that repair caravans in Fordingbridge! :D

Not knowing how they do habitation checks. My presumption is they have some form of meter to say "Its damp in here" or spot a puddle.
I know we have had a puddle in the garage, but it has been after we have put a wet motorbike in there. No chance it could be that or a spilt bottle of wine ?
