Went down there to have a look at a boat a couple of years ago. The road is a few miles of single track with passing places and not the greatest.
There is a hotel, shop and a camp site but I am pretty sure it's a park with statics only.
There is a lot of green space, especially near Carrick Castle, and although it is within the bounds of the national park it is not one of the areas where a permit is required for wild camping. (Well it wasn't when my pal went there last year).
It is lovely down there though!

Why do you ask Trev or can you be more specific ? You could park the motorhome in the car park on the front at Lochgoilhead but bring your own food as the local shop is diabolical. Nice hotel but expensive, not sure if there is enough space to park at Carrick castle though. Good walking and mountain biking.

Always - off and on
The Cowal Peninsula is one of my favourite places, used to go at least once a year, stayed at Glendaruel Campsite (its expanded with a lot of static vans now) was the family's favourite site. Still lovely. Enjoy if you buy.

At Campbell’s kingdom,a guy I know loves going there. Just remember it’s Midgie heaven and rains a lot , that area is my old boat fishing haunt. We camped and you were either out in the boat, round the fire,in the pub or in the tent. Pictures are on a nice day. 25th of March 2017.

Wonderful kayaking but the midge are a nuisance when you launch and land. Not as bad as Loch Sunart though.......
The lochs are fabulous and plenty small bays to land at,I learned to waterski on Loch Goil with a very thick wetsuit on.
