i haven't bean out to the van since i cam home from work ill it not bean started in over a week i never did get round to wiring up the heater plug flame starter
first flick of the key it started

Sounds like all is good with that engine bill...
Im sure you know that a direct injection doesnt need glow plugs to start in most of the conditions we get here anyway...though the modern trend is to have them... best information i have is thats its an emissions driven thing to reduce pollution at start up..
The old indirection engines wouldnt start without glow plugs...

Pleased to hear you are on the mend...

I am very happy with this engine apart from the oil leek I can't find but I think it's the can cover seal

On Saturday at 7am it was -2C. My 57 reg Ducato 2.3 started on-the-button after a month of not being moved. Didn't even sound particularly clattery.
