For those who know this I apologise.

Pour a little bicarbonate of soda then white vinegar into then plug hole. Not too much at a time as the mix starts to fizz. Hot water into the sink soon measures yr success or not. Repeat until normal emptying rate is achieved. Finally loads of hot water to wash away chemical residue remaining.

You will of course have white vinegar on board for laundry and kitchen cleaning duties.

I prefer the jet-wash method. Get a large squishy plastic bottle like a used 2 litre milk bottle, fill with warm water, up-end over the plug-hole and squeeze down hard. You end up with water squirting everywhere, but it's pretty effective at clearing blocked and slow pipes.

I've no idea what my vinegar is .:unsure:I buy it dispensed into 5 L water bottle at the bodega.:)
