Derek paying €500 a month - well he's being ripped off we pay less than that for 2 months
And as for the Wild campers you will always find someone who wants to be in the big towns but not pay for it instead of being out in the wilds doing it

as the longer you stay the cheaper it gets over 35 nights
10€ a night electric was 0€40c a kw but 4KW free with solar only 240v use was fridge

Staying in Benidorm now and it is full. The usual freeloaders are roughing it in the streets. It must be terrible to pay thousands of pounds for a motorhome and realise you haven't a tenner for a site. Busking may help.

But you haven't told us where this bargain site is,,Managed 12 euros 50 cents a night with C&C Club at Almafra but not managed it lower,,Thats a bargain in Benidorm,,BUSBY,,

If you want English food , entertainment, cheap drink, english company , etc; Ideal

Weather, walks ,beaches , etc; are just as good elsewhere.

There must still be room as La Toretta held my booking over ( were due there last month) and emailed me today confirming they have room for me in a week or so when I shall arrive. I believe it works out €510 plus leccy if needed, for 31 days to get the best rate, cheaper still if longer but a month will do me, places to go

Happy to pay for the facilities and not being moved on, and offset by the cheaper beer prices in Beni

entertainment most of the day somewhere
lots of restaurants and food oportunies
Cycle trails
Walking trails
Beaches
Fishing (of course)
History if you look past the alcohol
lots of geocaches too

Makes the £4ish per night long stay at Alcosebre back in 2003 look cheap. 10amp electric used to trip regularly though. Hey-Ho. that's inflation (and the Euro)

Close to Benidorm are the more relaxed Albir & Altea.We used the scooter today to go inland to Guadalest ,only 30 minutes.On return we visited Fuentes del Algar and the nice town of Polop.Lots more to Benidorm than we realised.

Can someone post some pics up of how close together the vans are parked on these sites in Benidorm because if like the ones I've passed so far and you'd struggle to swipe a visa card between them I think I'll by pass it.

I'm at a wildparking spot in cullera just now that must have 100 vans but there is loads of space between them , ...quite a few concordes, morellos and a lot of big luxury vans parked there.
I can totally see why when they have space around them and its free.....
If I can hear the person in the van next door breathing I'm way to close for my liking.

Blackpool or The lake District, Scottish Highlands or the Dales ? The UK has the same choices as Spain....some like quiet, some prefer other attractions, the same rules apply here in Spain......its the choice of the individual....

The "problem" with wild camping, quite apart from the fact that the Spanish and Portuguese are allegedly clamping down hard on it, is the lack of even limited security, if you feel the need to visit somewhere. The choice is take the unit, In my case was 32ft of R-V plus a car, and try to find Parking!, OR take the risk that some scrote will steal or vandalise. Most sites are at least nominally secure, and with personal, and or public transport often reasonably close by It takes some hassle out of the situation. A nice if small pitch, is much preferable to some of the "Car Parks" and crowded sea fronts full of `vans, we saw toward the later end of our touring. Finding a quiet unspoiled pitch for a few days is harder than people think, most of it has restricted access, and "trespass" was very frowned upon!.

In the "old" days I did both, but the density of "Campers" was much less, and pre Euro, site prices where substantially cheaper. I second the choice of Altea though Cap Blanche used to be very reasonable, Lots of Dutch.

We are pitched in Benidorm and have a 7.5mtr van, car, trailer and awning on our site space. Still room for loungers etc.
Just as much space as UK sites.

I got in touch with La Torreta last week for a 6 week pitch, Last week of Feb until mid April, I was told no problems and to send a €200 deposit which I’ve sent.
We should be there by the 25th Feb.

Good morning Northernraider .You may remember we were at Camping Tauro,Benicassim on your way through.Just took these pics for you.Good size pitches you can get all the clobber out.Acsi also I think ? We are using the CCC rally here.We are the Hymer next to shower block and then our neighbours

followed by the showers and lastly the main block for restaurant,sports bar,reception,etc.
