Hi all,

Has anyone any ideas where i can purchase two bed struts for my drop down bed: Or are there any other Frankia owners who have sourced and fitted them.

The pics are the best i could take of whats written on the existing struts.

SGS quoted £145 each exc VAT

Frankia I650 Year 2006

Thanks
Rob

SGS have given us great service and always good prices

they did do a regas option when we last needed which might be a bit cheaper, I tried it but it didn't work for us, new ones are brilliant (y)

You may have to just dig deep I’m afraid, whenever I tried to find cheaper, I’ve been unsuccessful(y)

We used SGS for replacing our Rapido bed struts. From memory, regassing was £42 per pair plus me paying the first postage to them, whereas new ones were £53 delivered. Guessing that my postage would be approx £5, all new ones were costing was an extra £6 BUT if I went the regassing route, I could pay an extra £5 (ie my postage to them). For me, that was a no-brainer. (y)

I was rung up at 9.30am on BH Monday ("we only close on Xmas Day"), discussed the measurements, connections, strength etc and new struts arrived on Wed.

If only fitting them had been so quick!

PS I went down the "jubilee clip" route, buying 2 clips from Halfords which were approx 80cm long with "grooves" along their entire length.

The ones that bob has shown, have a bolt at hole at both ends, yours have a knucle at one end & a bolt at the other ??

They have another one, don't know what the difference is.

They all seem to have the same ends on them, even the Hymer / Pilote but they do sell different ends, or you might be able to use the ends off your old ones. :D2

I seem to remember helping ;) well advising @JJ  doing that when he did his classic Hymer. (y) Bob.
