What size George Foreman???? (1 Viewer)

Hi,
Thinking of getting one to use outside when on hook up, as it is going to be the hottest summer since records were kept

Just wondered if I was limited by the ampage on hookup on sites here and abroad (esp Italy)??? or if I can choose any model?
Might have fridge on as well.

Any comments much appreciated,

Hook ups can vary from 3 Amps to 16 Amps depends on site.

Any ones guess, on size you can use it will depend on site supply.

It doesn't say on the GF site what they are rated at, but I did find info on the family model and it is rated at 1kw so approx 4.5 amps.. the smaller ones will be less..

best to look at the data label when choosing, then decide ..

We use the GF compact grill and griddle, its the one thats half like a george foreman half like a frying pan. Great for breakfasts al fresco. Just had a look and it is 2100w. With my simple reconing thats about 9 amps. Never ever had a problem in the uk (always had a large enough supply, with fridge on as well). No experience of european supplies though

Fingers crossed.

We have the big GF grill with the griddle at one side , as there are 5 of us.
In the summer we either take the cadac BBQ or GF grill with us depending if we have hook up or not . May as well get our moneys worth
Now this was with the caravan , as we haven't had a summer with the MH yet. But i guess its the same difference

The only problem we had on hook up with power was if the fridge was on , when the heater was on , when boiling a kettle !

We knew not to do it but sometimes you forget.oh:
You could always put the fridge on gas , if you were having problems , i suppose.

We use our GF for a full English, however for a barby you cant beat a good old fashioned charcole one, sausages smotherd in smoke, burnt, dropped on the grass and wiped down on your trousers, mmmmm, yum, yum.

Georgo Foreman

My old George Forman Grill used to have a temperature control so that you could control your cooking times, maybe if you can still get one that would help.
We have used our new one in France and Germany but I only have a small grill in the Motorhome :thumb:

So true , very tasty , but we always seem to put things on too soon .
Things end up raw or undercooked in the middle.
Ok if its steak , but a sausage or burger and youd be on the loo all weekend.
I know your supposed to wait till the coals go grey , but we never seem to get it right. Plus if the winds blowing in the wrong direction smoke gets in your and you get smelly hair n clothes.

Brilliant isn't it. Especialy when the clouds of smoke drift over the site and engulf all the other pitches. Love watching all the other peeps standing up over their wind breaks to see where its coming from.

Regarding overloading the electrics, we have a quick warm up with the heater, turn that off and cook breakfast, turn the cooker off and put on the boiler, then wash dishes. After all that's sorted, we make sure the fridge is on. It won't hurt food if the fridge is off for an hour. Just a balancing act.

Hi folks,
model no:15425. 1550 watts. Flash, stainless top version.

I bought my George Formby when the thermocouple on my gas grill packed up.
Never bothered to fix the thing as the George does everything. I've even fried eggs in it!
Chuck the removable plates out in the rain and it's a doddle to clean up next day.
Worst bit is the plastic drip tray. Bugger to clean and easy to forget, resulting in hot cheese dripping down onto the carpets . Chewing solidified cheddar off the shag pile lacks dignity....don't you think?..
I digress.....
Best thing is that the whole ensemble fits into my oven for transport. :thumb:
(I have no connection with George Foreman by the way, although I did watch him box once as a lad)
