I bought a similar panel 80W £199 in the UK, it works fine. Go for it and report back. bring some home and sell em.

Solar power is cheaper over there due to the fact that once away from towns you have three choices for electric power, solar, wind turbine and genny. most of the houses out in the country use a combination of all three to ensure a good supply of electricity. Our place near tortosa is only 5km from our nearest town,there was no electic or water in the valley we are in untill recently, the folk in the valley formed a 'community' got the cost of supplying both water and electric and we have all paid to have it brought out to us. eg the pylons and cabling and the digging of large wells and running of pipes that now supply piped water, a certain amount was in the form of a grant from Brussels and we had to pay the rest, having done that we now have to pay for our individual connections. A few cant afford the connection yet so solar,turbine and genny still rule.

I would go for a panel at that price

Not being clued up at all about solar panel, how usefull would a panel like that be to us with Kountrylites or similar JK ?
Is it enough to dump the hook up completely or would it just be a case of easing the load on the hook up by taking over the job of charging the batteries for the 12v and letting the hook up just concentrate on the 230V requirements?

That looks a good deal but I think the price is just for the solar panel, looking at the website the full package is over 1,000 euros which includes 200 watt inverter, 6amp charge controller, 150 amp hour battery and solar wiring. Presumably that includes fitting?

Looks like a worthwhile contact if you are in the market for a PV Panel. However, it is worth making a proper like for like comparison. The chap does have cheap panels, but his price for a 130W Kyocera KC series panel is €564 plus IVA (VAT in the UK). Not sure what rate the Spanish set on panels, but the standard rate of IVA is 16%.

Aire & Sun Power Systems in the UK sell a 130W Kyocera (newer KD series) for £480 incl. VAT.

So the real comparison is:
€564 + 16% = €654 = £593 at current exchange rate;
versus £480

A saving of £113 by buying in the UK. Not sure whether there are possible IVA savings on export from Spain, but presumably you would then have to pay the UK VAT on import.

Of course, if you are happy with the cheaper Spanish-sourced panel, rather than a Kyocera then go for it, but in my experience, quality has a price.

p.s. I don't have a panel so cannot comment from experience, but Aire & Sun have been reported in various places as decent suppliers.

That battery in the kit is £480 alone, one thing that is expensive over here is batteries. I've also got the other bits with the 80W panel I already have, a controller capable of handling 12 amps.

With a toal of over 200 watts, it will certainly keep my 440 AH battery pack topped up and if mainly on gas then only TV/DVD and laptops via 1KW inverter so should be alright. Gas costs €9/ 13kg bottle and lasts 3 weeks +, not using the furnace. Sounds like cheap living to me.
I understand you get what you pay for but I have also got a Kipor which is no trouble at all and was half the price of the Honda (delete that last reference, I am sorry).
