3 way fridge (1 Viewer)

Hi, my fridge works fine on 240 & gas, but it won't work on 12 volt, all lights etc work ok on 12 volt, we have checked the fuse thats ok, but there is no 12 volt supply going to the fridge, could it be a relay switch?, if it is, has anyone any idea where the relay switch could be, or could it be something else, our motorhome is a 1993 burstner LHD, many thanks.

Quite a lot of motorhomers and agents in Germany cut the 12 volt cable to save the batteries, as in the case in my RV. On the road we use gas and only on site 240v.

Hi the relay will more than likely be in between the alternator and engine battery.:thumb:
The fridge will only work on 12v when the engine is running :thumb:

Certainly the case on our Burstner. The fridge is too big a load to allow it to run off battery when the engine is not charging.

That could be a fuse ( maybe not blown but rusty ) or the relay. You just might find the relay by looking for a thinnish wire from the alternator running to a relay somewhere near the battery. You might then find a fuse next to it.
