God no, have knock knees and keep falling over. Could do a mean sprint when the emergency buzzer went off though.

Hi @MichelleRyall just noticed your post as I looked through the forum's, I'm a bit of a plodder and run 2 or 3 marathons a year. I will be doing the Nice marathon 5 weeks today, still haven't done a park run even though I've printed my bar code :). They hold one not far from my daughters flat in Edinburgh so no excuse, its actually right outside the CC site.

Hi, yes, both myself and my wife run. About three times per week. We Parkrun most Saturdays. One of the suggested uses of our motorhome is to be able to attend different runs around the country / Europe.

It clogs the park up around here to be totally honest.

I am trying to walk around and a huffing, puffing "runner" seems to think they have a right of way.

A great idea all the same.

I find they're like wasps in the summer when I'm trying to walk the dogs :D2

Yes, I am on 80 marathons aiming to complete 100 before my 50th birthday. I have done about 18 this year but struggling at the moment to stay motivated. I have also done a good few Ultras up to 100 miles. I love park runs as they have got the country moving again which is great. Problem is my son beat me wearing his burgan and full military kit last time out so I don't do to many. I have done over 50 park runs and completed 20 Plus volunteer attendances...

I stick to the trails nowadays but still like the odd roadie, off too Marakech marathon in January, second time there...

So I suppose in answer to your question, yes I do run ;-)

Update, I am now on parkrun 26. I regularly run about twice a week. 5k or 10k, hubby still can’t believe it. But even better we are off to the Alps skiing on Thursday and looking to stay the second night at Pierre de Bresse.....guess what? Only a parkrun right opposite...it would be rude not to don’t you think?

If we were meant to run our legs would be shaped like a horse or dog .
Well, mine are like a cheetah and I still can’t run,so that’s a rubbish theory. Mind you,the MIL is like a hippo, and she doesn’t run at all,so maybe..........

I “Jeff” - Jeff Galloway’s run-walk-run method! Easier on the knees! Have been away from it for a few months with a prolapsed disc, but have just started again. Hope to be able to do park run again soon. I have got a “Run-Walk-Run-Repeat” T shirt, as well wishes keep encouraging me in the walk sections! Run faster overall with this method than continuous running!

Isn’t that what we used to call “ Scout’s pace “ ? Can’t remember if it was run forty paces then walk forty paces maybe.

You do intervals to suit your age and fitness- for instance I’m comfortable with 60 seconds run, then 60 seconds walking, but a lot of younger people do 30:30, or 90:30. It’s a sort of glide to walk, glide into a run thing! I can run further and faster using this method, and Jeff himself is still running, and I think he’s in his 80s now? I’m just reading his book called “Running until you’re 100”, although I’m a long way from 100!

always nice when a thread resurrects itself.

I've now completed over 100 marathons.
2 half Ironmen
1 full Ironmen

and on Saturday I completed my 96th park run I am trying to get to 100 on xmas day but think it might have to wait till the new year.

I entered Norseman but never got in, I am going to jack it all in when I get a place. Next year it's another Ironman 2 more halves...
Hate training this time of year though.

I fell heavily whilst running in January, and it’s set off osteoarthritis in my knee & I can’t run at all now! I try to do other fitness, but my knee is swollen like a balloon, and just won’t let me do much except walk on the flat! Well fed up with it, and now feel quite old! ?
