Went out to refuel the gas today since coming back from Spain,, and noticed the auto step did not retract completely..

Got home and opened and closed the door a couple of times but still would not go right in (Sticks out a few inches)... Closed the door with a little preasure from my foot and it goes in, but only with a little help..

Thing I have noticed is there is loads of salt crystals from the roads coming up through france and the UK. I did hose off..

Any pointers please?

 No need to STRIP it down old-mo. Just a general application of (LOADS) Oil, WD40, gentle (BIG) persistent hitting with an hammer and in/out opereration of the door with gentle kicking action with the foot. Usually works for me. :thumb::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
