One of our first trips to France in a Motorhome was to explore the D-Day Beaches. The French have done a magnificent job in preserving the memory of this great battle. We visited all 5 beaches and a number of museums and war cemetery's. If you have never done this, it's a great way to spend a break in France. I would recommend a minimum of a week to do this. You will enjoy it all the more if you do a little research for each beach prior to your visit.

We looked a some this year too, but Sword beach seemed a little lacing on info, we parked at Ouisterham and cycled down to Pegasus Bridge with the dog.

We looked at Omaha and I was shocked to see the German bunkers with massive shell impact holes inside them.
