Liquid Propane Weight

This site: Link Removed states the following:

The specific gravity of propane liquid is 0.504; water is 1.

Therefore 1 litre of propane weighs 0.504kg.
19.5 kg = 38.69 litres

Or do as I do work on the basis that 1Kg = 2 litres - then if you want to err on the safe side just take a litre off the end result.

So by my reckoning I paid 58p ltr for autogas yesterday at our local shell garage but last week I paid 20 quid for a 19.5kg bottle of propane from the builders merchants which equates to 52.6p ltr by the 2 for 1 formula which makes bottled Gas the clear favourite to use in my RV while Im fulltiming on site through the winter months.
Funny , I always thought Autogas was half the price.
Interesting.

Hi Tony

£20 for a 19.5 kg bottle is a good price. Our local Calor dealers sell the 6 kg bottles for anywhere between £17 - £21.
We use Autogas in our Gaslow system, our local BP garage is now selling it at 63.9p per litre.

Hi Tony that is a very good price :thumb: a 12 kg bottle here costs £23 exchange or a 15 kg £25 exchange -- Now this surprised me ---the 12 kg & the 15 kg bottles are the exact same size only difference is in the weight- :ROFLMAO:

I use Flo Gas mainly because I had a few of their empty bottles kicking around to exchange.
I think I paid round about £50 for a 47 kg just before christmas.
