We could put

Please could this post go back to the top of the list and then everyone would see it again
Thank you so much
::bigsmile:

But which post goes back to the top of the list? The one you have just posted or any other one? It cannot be the Original Post because that is the top of the list anyway.

I think you ,who are in the know, have not fully answered the original, and my, question.

You're not a dumbo Geoff but I think you're forgetting that in this day and age you are allowed to use words in what ever way you personally want, there are no rules anymore.

So a 'thread' which to me is a list of 'posts' is often refered to as something else:RollEyes:

And a 'post' which to me is an individual entry timed and dated in a 'thread' is sometimes refered to as something completely different by others :RollEyes:

If I select a thread and I see that the last post was some time ago I might enter a post with the single word 'bump' this action will then put the thread on the top of the list of threads for which there are new postings!!! It is usually the person who started the thread who does this and he / she is commonly known as the OP (Original Poster)

If you select the button 'New Posts' at the top you get the list of threads with new posts on them The button could be called 'Threads which have new posts on them' but there is not enough room on the screen for such clarity and anyway, if you think about it the term 'New posts' is technically correct.

So, there you go, as clear as mud isn't it :ROFLMAO:

The answer to this question was given in the first reply.

Why do people continue to confuse the issue by posting more replies.

Its very annoying

ah.. but your missing the point Jim, even the simplest question deserves / needs at least 20 replies .. just to make sure the fist reply was accurate .. soon it will have moved on to kippers or herrings and maybe gas attacks..

this thread has miles to run yet .. yaaawwwwwnnnn

PS.. I thought you were going to work :roflmto:
