Hi Everyone,

Not sunny here but a lot warmer than London was this weekend.
The Hymer has pulled up in Tavira.
The supermarket "site" is empty (never stopped there myself.)
The new shopping centre is open and there was a rumour last year that there would be a Burger King there... bang goes the diet...

Just making a late lunch then off to Cabanas (Beach Cafe) for tonight's footy.

In the Harlan Coben thriller I am reading the hero quotes,

"Man makes plans. God laughes."

Well, bang go my Christmas plans!

Look what they have done to my parking space on the front in Cabanas, Eastern Algarve...

Where there's a will there's a way...

I checked up on the road works later today and found the big machinery had moved down the road thus freeing my preferred spot. I left the spacious space I spent last night in and went around the back streets and am now in position!!!

Well happy and am giving the site free advertising...

If you don't mind a few questions as I know nothing re wild camping

So this is your regular spot? How long will you stay for? I guess you must have solar panels is that enough to give you power? How do you deal with getting fresh water? and rid of waste/toilet waste etc...

To me the spot looks isolated. I doubt if I would ave the guts to stop there I would be worried that I would atract unwanted attention.....Obviously a lot more experienced and made of harder stuff! lol

Hi Judgemental... photos can deceive! There is a block of holiday flats twenty metres away! A football is bar sixty metres away and that is next to a couple of excellent restaurants. (The other way is an 18 kilometre beach all the way to Monte Gordo.)

I have solar panels but I don't stay parked here more than a few days at a time before I wander off somewhere else for a few days. There used to be water taps for the fishermen a hundred yards away (gone now) but the there are many other options nearby. There is a sewer manhole very close for the black and grey water.

The main thing is, rather like this website, there is a vast amount of knowledge amongst the motorhomers. If you want to know where to get gas or water or where to empty you know what, you just have to ask one of them.

It is a great life and, frankly, I couldn't afford to do it if I had to pay site fees. But then I am single so only have to cater for myself...
