We are thinking of spending 5 nights in northern France at the end of October. We would like your valuable opinions on these Aires please. Le Crotoy 1, St Valerie en Caux, Veules les Roses, Honfleur and Wissant.
Thanks in advance.

Le Crotoy - nice little town but will probably be "closed" in October. The aire has plenty of room. Good vet at Rue, about 5 mins away if you need one.
St Valerie - smart modern aire, a bit of a walk into a pretty town worth visiting
Veules - sorry not been there
Honfleur - Large but will be plenty of room in October. The town close by is very attractive with plenty of cafes/bars etc.
Wissant - One of our favourites, can be limited in busy season ('cos it's free) but should be okay in October. No water. Seasidey type village 5/10 mins walk, popular with French.

Just a warning - many aires will have their water turned off by then so refill whenever you can. Disposal usually ok - I use the grey water to flush cassette.

since 2014!
We used the Wissant aire last Wednesday, and found it very acceptable. It's a car park really, reserved for motorhome, and has bins for rubbish, plus grey and black water disposal. Didn't see any taps, and no loos or other facilities.

It's on the 'main' road, so there's some road noise, but not obtrusive. We didn't find any real walking from the site, but we didn't look too hard, as it was a night stop.

Basically, it's a free motorhome park with some facilities, just outside a village. Can't really say much more for it.

Is that St Valerie en Caux or the other St Valerie? The one at En Caux is on the harbour side and can get quite cramped if busy.

Sorry, think I got the wrong St Valerie. One I was thinking of is a inland from the village.

Is there a walk along the beach at Wissant?

Well there is, but it's not a very big beach, especially when the tide is in!

It's St Valerie en Caux we were thinking of going to.

That's a nice aire, right on the beach and a short walk to the nice village. Jetons for the water are from the tourist information office in the village.

There are a couple of decent restaurants, one (can't remember the name but it's painted blue) at the end of the road coming from the aire and another (Restaurant du Port?) on the other side of the harbour.

It does get busy but I'd imagine you'll be OK at this time of year.
