We are getting to know our recently acquired 2007 Swift Sundance 590RS. On our second one-night outing we found we had hot water when neither the electric nor the gas water heating had been switched on. Anyone have any idea what is happening?

if it had Alde heating and heat exchanger I would suggest that, otherwise I think something must be on, what system do you have and was the heating on?

We don't have the same makes yours but just a long shot. Inside one of our cupboards is a switch for water while on electric. Our temp would then be controlled by a knob at door. Maybe try looking for a switch somewhere.

Hi andy63, no heater is not engine plumbed.
Hi lorger, the water heater is a Trauma Ultrastore. Just been reading the manual and it says that there is a switch in the wardrobe for electric water heating! Just going to pop out and have a look!

So we've been out to look in the wardrobe and on lifting the hardboard base of the wardrobe you can see the water heater and on the side of the compartment are two separate electric switches one marked 'heater' and one marked 'boiler' and both are in the on position. This could be the explanation although the manual says that the water heating is turned on via the control panel situated above the door of the van and that was definitely not on...

The controls above the door only probably control the water temp when on elec.

You now hopefully can see what a wealth of information this forum is, ...and have more Qs in the future so it will be very worth your while subscribing at only £15 per yr its excellent value. :)
