As far south as possible. Closer to the time, Google the weather forecast and chase the sun.

Yes you are right,I think any where past Loire Valley will be at least warm!(y)

just watch the weather, don't presume further south is good, we have had amazing weather all over Europe when not expected and often where unusual (y) hope you are lucky
That's very true. Look at all areas, Eastern France and western.

A few years now had a break but back with a MH now
we live in the Haute-Vienne near Limoges dont presume cause we are south of the Loire its warmer, bloody freezing here today gonna light the woodburner again. Supposed to get some sunshine this weekend. Serious storms in the South East of France at the moment, make sure you get the weather forecast before you travel!

This time of year - be a pessimist.
Assume it's going to be wet, windy and cold everywhere. Pack accordingly and dress accordingly and then, anything better than wet, windy and cold will be a pleasant surprise.

Other than that - what they said.

Just four short hours and you can be in either the Canaries or Cyprus both of which should give you a good 7.5 days of pure sunshine....(y)

Yes you can,but I want to be in my motorhome!:)
We don't really mind the weather when away ( as long as it's not major floods or snow storms!) being somewhere different is a holiday in itself, different foods , places of interest and cafes and restaurants is enough to for us as long as we are warm and dry and cosy in the van at night.
Enjoy your trip.let us know how you get on.

Well here we are in Sarlat im having my first beer of the day
We stayed at an aire next to the river in Montignac and we woke to
rain!http
So we didn't look around Montignac as planned and just headed to a
ACSI site in Sarlat.
It has rained most of the day today, but hopefully picking up tomorrow.
So in the morning we are going to head to St Cirq Lapopie and hope
The sun shines on us there!

We left St Cirq Lapopie and went to a campsite in Poitiers. And
today we have moved on to a lovely campsite in Saumur right
on the Loire river and over looking the Chateaux.:)
And we are just about to bike into the town for a few beers
and the a nice dinner.
All we need now is some sun to make it perfect!

Hope you do get some sun. We've left the van at home and enjoyed blue skies and 28 degrees here in Lanzarote today.

Mind you, it was very wet the night before last and I think we might be in for a bit more rain tonight. But the next couple of weeks are looking OK, with minimum highs of 26 degrees.

I'd be the same. We try to use the van in France between May and September, to improve the chances of finding warm sunny weather.

Anacdotal I know, but we have been on the French Med coast - St Tropez - mid-October, and it was blooming wet and cold. I'm sure there are some good October days, but we don't risk it now.
