I'm a newbie, did have a Caravan about 8 years ago.
Hi all, just fitted a Fiamma 500 box on the back of my MH and have noticed that it sticks out a bit.
My question is do I need to put lights and indicators on it?

Thanks in anticipation.

Was a newbie, now a Middie.
It's like having a small trailer. As long as everything on the van is working and visible, then you dont need additional lights/number plate. (y)

I've just taken one of those off the roof.

You might not want to hear this so maybe stop reading now ................ but if it's bolted on it has become part of the van so you need to measure your overhang. Which should not be more than 60% of your wheel base!
This also applies to cycle racks...........
The trick is to make anything you hang of the back quick release so you don't need tools to remove then its luggage not a extension of the van...
I swapped by lower bolts with cotter pins and R clips to get around the law as the bottom of the cycle rack is only under compression.
I reckon the coppers would not be up to speed on this but the insurance companies could use it to get out of a claim if your vans written off.

Just had MH Mot'd this week and tester did not fail me on rear box.
I had bolted it on and there is a chevron sticker on the back, no extra lights.
Happy days.

That would not be in the remit of an MOT tester UNLESS it was covering/obscuring the lights / number plate. Vehicle length and markings come under construction and use rules. Totally different
