i have just bought a Garmin Camper 660 and am impressed with it at first glance.

Can anyone explain, in simple terms, how I download POIs such as Aires etc.?

I would like to use it to locate suitable parking places for the m/h when visiting strange towns.

Please avoid jargon if possible, I'm easily confused!

The first step is to find the web sites where the POIs you require are hosted. Downloading then varies but the sites tend to have instructions as to how to handle their files.
You need to store the files in a folder of your choice and then use the program to update your sat nav.

My parking POI set can be downloaded from Here.

Many thanks @GJH
I am aware, from the Forum, of all the great work you do re Parking.

As your resource is one I particularly want to use I will make it my trial download.

Showing my naivety I didn't even know there was a POI downloaded available as a separate tool!(n)

I will let you know how I get on?:)

Thanks to you I have downloaded the Garmin POI downloaded to my PC.(y)

Looking at your link I believe I need only two files when unzipped. Is that right?

When downloading to my PC do I create a new, separate folder for them before transfer to the Garmin?

Does the folder have to have any particular name to match Garmin files?

Sorry to ask such basic questions but we all have to start somewhere?(n)

I would appreciate any help you feel able to give .

Yes, for the Garmin you need just the .bmp file and the .gpx file.
Put them both in a folder with whatever name you want to call it (together with any other poi files you wish to add) and then use that folder when prompted to by the POI Loader program.
