What "whatsapp" to get? (1 Viewer)

A friend of mine is in Spain with his MH and just texted me to suggest I download a "whatsapp" on my Ipad. This is so that he would like to send me photos of his travels, he says sending them via this app costs nothing. Have been looking at the "whatsapp" and there seems to be loads which is the best one to use?

It's great and we have different private groups to keep in touch with family and non-family friends etc and avoids putting personal stuff on forums or Facebook.

There is a different download for each device and some third party ones that charge a fee for it. Then theres ANDROID versions

It is only this week that I discovered a download for my Mac book and it syncs with my phone just by scanning a QR code on my mac screen.

It needs to be on your phone first too as you need a phone number to tie to the app.
Then sync the phone to your iPad

My Italian buddy used Viber too but I easily converted him and he was delighted.
We used it for weeks whilst testing his Truma boiler controller. Many pictures where exchanged in live conversation which largely overcame the language barrier. He has reasonably good English but I have limited Italian. Molto Bene

It's a brilliant app but not yet compatible with my tablet so I downloaded whatstablet. That syncs with my phone when I scanned the thingumybob on the app. Oh yea a QR code on my phone. Thanks techno for reminding me.

Watsapp is ok but i sometime receive messages hours after they are sent, on occasion it can be next day....or the middle of the fecking night
Good for sending MMS though.

If i send an important/urgent text message i send it regular SMS....2p via 3 network PAYG
Better still, i use my phone as it was originally intended........as a phone......and call whoever i need to contact.
That way i know they got what i had to say.

I must know lots of Spaniards because at least 60 people I know use it and successfully when abroad. Not even heard of viper. I suppose you could have both if you want to adder.

Not a lot of use to me when everyone I deal with, friends, family ,etc ; uses Viber. Everything that can be done on wassap can be done on viber or skype , which I also have.

I use the viber a lot for sms, mms, video etc.

I have wassap , as Spaniards call it, only because some of the idiots refuse to accept phone calls/emails , etc; when selling & will only deal via wassap. I only turn it on when I have to contact one who'll only communicate via that method.

I must know lots of Spaniards because at least 60 people I know use it and successfully when abroad. Not even heard of viper. I suppose you could have both if you want to adder.

Or 3 even with skype. as someone else said I prefer to actually speak on the phone even if it is using one of the apps. I'd never even heard of wassap until I lived here.
