You'll be lucky !!!, we have found the best prices through the 'caravan club' , sometimes even cheaper when you buy 'camping cheques'...

Thought as much. Not a member of CC. Would rejoin if ferry price was worth it but can't find out price online without being a member.
I'll have to ring them.

Possibly best you might get is 10%
Is that route the only one possible?

Just looking at the minute but sick of the drive back from Dover.
Got back last Saturday and had a nightmare of a trip up.

In the past I have had some amazing deals booking a crossing and three nights through the likes of Eurocamp, sometimes saved as much as a hundred £ and on occasion not even bothered with the site vouchers

Not actually tried this with a Hull crossing but regularly done it on a long channel crossing from Portsmouth

They might be wise to it now that was a few years ago

Got a quote of £361 return direct with P&O.
Doing Hull-Rotterdam saves us just over 600 miles on our journey so it's worth the extra cost I think.

I always buy direct I've actually found cc price to be dearer
It's worth upgrading to outside cabin and including the food too

I do understand that. However, we travel in the small hours thus very few traffic problems. If booked well, we've had Dover-calais for £36 return. I do appreciate it's generally more but reckon you'd get under £100 return. Plus it's overnight and definitely limited to time. I like the idea but time constraints on Hull Rotterdam route.

Outside cabin gives you the option of two single beds rather than bunks which are horrible the pricing is confusing but it's only about £13 to upgrade the cabin from memory

Just done a quick price comparison.
Tunnel £159
Ferry £162
About £200 cheaper but if I take price of diesel off it's about £100 dearer to do Hull.
Times suit us because we're both working on the Saturday morning before we travel.

We have just done a price / time comparison from Lincoln to Annecy both inc 1 x dog

Tunnel is approx £338 inc toll's

Ferry is £529 inc toll's

Mileage is 50 miles nearer by ferry but exactly the same travel time + you have an extra 12 hrs on the ferry

I was hoping to find it similar but cannot justify the extra £191 and probably wouldn't have enough tesco points to cover the ferry cost anyway!

For someone living right up north maybe, but sadly not for us and the dog has a nicer crossing also

Or am I missing something? as I know plenty of people use the ferry

Have done Hull to Zeebrugge for years as wife can't stand the drive to and from Dover.Usually pay just under £350 which includes outer cabins i.e. With window.Dont rate the meals but for shear convenience you can't beat it.

The last time I used the H to R ferry. I was in the dog house for days !.
The Chief Engineer and I had sailed together in Tor Line in the 80's. I. Quite literally crawled off at Europoort!!. And swmbo had to drive!.

Some meals ???

Theres only two meals...evening meal and breakfast. ...its a 12hr sail overnight.

Unless things have changed dinner will be the nationality of the crew, usually thai, and the return leg it will be English or visa-versa.

There is the choice of either both ways and you can go back to the counter as much as you like. The menu is very good for £26 per head inc breakfast

@Tom A If you change your mind about food you can leave it as late as boarding as the offer is usually available at the reception desk.

Cheers Andy. Last time we used this crossing we booked the meal package and I'd just sat down to breakfast when the old sea sickness kicked in. Didn't eat a thing. Thing was it was has flat as a millpond.
Need a good old anti sea sickness remedy now.

Bit the bullet and booked Hull-Rotterdam. £511 with a club suite both ways. It's only money.
Thanks for your replies.

Check the booking I think you get breakfast

also one of the major benefits for us you get a kettle in the club cabins, always nice first thing in the morning to get your own coffee, don't forget to pack some when you board (and milk) (y)

we can help with that as well, Bev suffers from nerves more than sea sickness but can make herself ill just thinking about it

try Nelsons travel remedy

Nelsons do a great range of homeopathic stuff, I swear by a cuts and grazes ointment they have in the range as well

Its changed then Andy, but then im going back maybe 20 years.
Hull/zeebrugge or Hull/Rotterdam...far too expensive for me when Dover is only 7 hours away.
£300 difference in fares buys a lot of French diesel.
