Hi,

Does anyone run a blender (handheld or otherwise) on an inverter? Can you recommend one? My partner and I make a healthy smoothie every day for breakfast and would like to be able to do this while on the road.

Thanks

Dont have one myself.
I would have thought a hand blender for easy of storage..
A quick look and Argos do a cheapie at £6.99 thats 160 watts..
Some of the better ones run at 300+ watts !
You only run them for a minute or two so should not be a problem just get a big enough inverter and make sure your batteries are ok..

Thanks. So from research, any blender less than 300 watts should be ok? We add nuts to the smoothie so need something that is at least slightly powerful.

I make soup with my 160w with my blender from the inverter. Its only on for a few seconds.
It's a 300w inverter.

My maths says a 300w blender, hand or proper one.. Will take about 25amps. But as it only runs for a min or two thats about an amp... So no massive drain on the battery.. But you need a good sized inverter and wired direct from the battery. One that plugs into a cigarette socket will be no good..

A BLENDER !!???!!

Chew thoroughly and spit into a bowl

Repeat several times until you have sufficient quantity

This way you enjoy it twice without wasting lekky

Huh! Beginners, who'd 'ave 'em.

or a good battery one or even a hand one. I ordered one that you pull a rip cord to spin the blades but its not arrived in time and was only £8 so most likely not good.

Beware... some of my low wattage kitchen appliances need a pure sinewave inverter to run and some don't...

Just saying...

My mum made do with a hand driven one. Bloody modern kids etc....
I'd happily have one but can't find any!
I should've said we don't have an inverter just 12v sockets. Looking for a battery driven or rechargeable ideally

Do you mind posting what type of inverter that is? I have the same setup but with a 1000w inverter and the nutribullet draws too much power (actually basically everything seems to draw too much power for the inverter so looking to swap it out). Better half's morning smoothies are the key buying criteria...

Just read an article (Readers Digest) that says smoothies aren't very good for you. The ingredients as they are, or perhaps chopped, are much better as making them smooth destroys all the fibre. So save yourself some money for the healthier things in life. The best "smoothies" come in bottles - well grapes are a natural ingredient aren't they? :D

Our Hymer actually has a special drop down cupboard for a blender/liquidiser as most Hymer owners are so old they have lost the ability to eat solid food (y)

I used a Nutri bullet with a 1500 watt inverter (until the fire brigade arrived)

Now I have a 300 watt inverter with a Magic Bullet and it’s absolutely marvellous. It chops nuts and ice and I can also make flour and nut butters. Reasonable price on amazon too. I’d suggest the smaller cheaper version as it has less accessories and so easier for packing away in the van.

No problem with running a blender from an inverter but why a smoothie, turning wholesome fruit and vegetables into a disgusting slime, while destroying the beneficial fibre.:sicker:

The fibre doesn't get trashed any worse than chewing.
And some folk advise that the goodness is absorbed into the body faster.

Agree about absorption but I could argue that fibre is needed to aid the digestive process, or so the medics tell us. Chewing doesn't break stuff down as much as a blender.
