lost all hope now

walk into dealers with the intention of getting this van which on the phone he tells me is the dogs thingies

damp has been there but low readings, puzzling ?

tell him so , so he says are you interested in a mohawk , maybe says I, come with me he says , and i follow him into the workshop and into the said mohawk.

and i dont really believe what i see.

front bench seat behind the drivers seat is all removed as is the wall board , all neatly sliced off.

in front of it is a dehumidifier drying out the interior frame.

so they are gooing to dry it out . put the board back and pretend the thing is damp free

by the time its wet again warranty is out and another punter conned .

lost all faith now .

Been pissing down here since last night. Just south of Grenoble.
Watched a couple take all their bedding out of their tent and carry it over to put in the tumble drier.
Have you considered a PVC?

Refreshingly honest, showing they are doing a proper job, why do you think it won't be damp free ?

oh it will be damp free , probably just till the warranty runs out, cos that's all they are doing drying it out no sealing, and as the vans are on sale inside no chance of getting wet till sold. the van we viewed had a pre-sale damp check and readings on their sheet were over 60%, yet i checked and it was totally dry , you could just see where the damp had been and it was soft,thing is they were so blatantly open about it as if it was a natural thing to do .

Yes. The number one dread has to be water ingress. It is so common so the question is do you reject one that has been repaired properly or do you hope the one you buy is dry ????

Poly Vinyl Coat should keep the damp out.

Take a trip to Lincoln next weekend and have a look for a European model. They seem to leak a whole lot less.
