Our largest gas ring has stopped functioning for some reason. Lots of clicking and gas coming through but no ignition. Other two rings are fine - any ideas anyone?

Can you light it with a match? If yes, the problem is with the igniter or electrode. If no, its the flame failure device (thermocouple).
Please post back the make and model of the cooker/hob and the answer to the above so we can advise further.

Living the dream.
The spark needs to go to earth to believe it or not make a spark, the noise you hear is it happening. The ring that doesn't light may not have a good earth, try moving it around if you can to get it to earth.

Hey I got a problem like that! Hob lights, but as soon as you release the button it goes out, (the button you hold down for 20-30 seconds before you release)

Any Ideas?
