When we picked up our motorhome as newbies a few weeks ago we were given a starter kit that included 4 bio de-gradeable loo rolls. These probably cost more than the ones I use at home from Asda so my question is what do you use.

Don't need special ones, we use Tesco soft and it breaks down fine using bio.

Useful hint, if you've got a free rolling bog roll holder as we have, squash the roll a bit before you put it on so it goes a bit oval. It will stop it unrolling as you travel.

I think all loo roll is bio degradable. The ones you were given are designed to break up and disperse more quickly in the cassette thus making emptying it an easier job. I have tried ordinary loo toll but not so good - really horrible when emptying. My current batch was an ALDI offer last year and I bought as much as I could.

We find the Lidl floralys very good, soft, fairly thick, cheap and dissolve very quick and they are avalible in most countries. Failing that most other continental loo rolls as they are narrower than UK ones so not putting so much paper in the loo.

Being in Portugal most of the time, the only toilet paper you can buy over there is degradable stuff made from the eucalyptus trees that cover the country. Bleached paper is banned because of the ecological harm is causes. This means a slightly more fragile paper that dissolves almost the instant it becomes damp

The principle that you don't put anything down the toilet that doesn't get their via your mouth works well with boats. I never let the cassette go unemptied for more than two days at a time, once it has been used even once. And we have a rule, "first to use it, has to empty it"

i use asda smart price . it works . but really none of it is really biodegradable .every sewage works as skip loads of waste took away every week.
as a sewage worker you could easily get rid of the sewage but the broken down paper was a nuisance should you get a covering .
its all lies we are told about bio things ,

We don't put paper or wipes down the loo as in Greece and other places and have a separate bin. Then it doesn't matter what sort of loo roll you buy!!

If we buy the posh bio stuff, we always use both sides to offset the extra cost :)

There's a product called "Happy Bowel" (I think it's "Bowl" but we call it bowel) that's a paper hat sort of thing that's shaped like the bottom of your loo bowl. It catches any pooey deposits then flushes away leaving your bowl nice and clean and free of Klingons. Well that's the theory anyway. My aim mustn't be great.

We always cook our toilet paper.

We brown one side and pop it in the pan!

BTW while we are on the subject of CRAP :) i remembered reading on the forum ages ago people buying "other" stuff to put into their toilets and some one had bought like 10 bottles of it at like £1 each as it was on offer in the supermarket , anyone know what it is, and if its used along with the chemical stuff you get or as a substitute,
i also remember someone saying their toilet smelling of flowers....
