Took the 180 for a zip up to the lakes and then down to the Pennines for its first outing last week. Had a lovely time and the van performed as advertised :)

I was pleasantly surprised at the pace of the van considering its size as it quite happily got up to, and and sat at 80 no worries on the motorway. Some of the B roads in the Pennines were fun !

We had internet issues at both sites but it was just great to be 'off the grid' for a week and get away from lifes usual noise.
For anyone considering a MoHo for the first time, do it ! its bloody brilliant. I didnt want to come home :)

Some pics for you :)

Haha, I haven't been called a young nipper for a long time. I like you:D

To make it clear. I dont do the whole journey at 80 ! just when the M-way is quiet with not much about.

Sorry but to openly say on line you are quite happy to brake the LAW
and do more than the national speed limit, is in my opinion just silly.
The wrong people might just be reading these post's.
And before anyone has a go at my spelling I can not spell and at almost 70 will not start now.

Indicated 80 is probably a lot less than that, and many cars do more than that anyway on a routine basis without any issues. It is a free country - I've driven our van at high speeds before but mostly stick to 60mph. Nothing wrong with it, in my view. Why pick up on it and criticise someone's driving speed? It is the driver's choice and driver's own assessment of the risk

Lovely photos ... the Lake District ones gave me lovely memories. Hope you continue to make many more happy trips and post lovely photos. Oh to be your age again ... enjoy life and the wonderful places your mh can take you to. :)

Thank you Movan. It is a stunning part of England thats for sure. Something a lot forget when they go on foreign hols ( not just in MoHos) is that there are some beautiful countries to visit in Europe, but GB certainly has some lovely treasures to discover.

where you made aware that the speed limit for motorhomes is different to cars in the uk? based on the unladen weight

At 80mph that's irrelevant. ;)
true, but it's way above the legal limit and likely to spoil a holiday/trip away with a fine. The spec cameras on the motorway gantries deal with that

.....of far greater concern is the new specs cameras that can detect grey waste dribblers. You have been warned!

Ever say something and wish you hadn't bothered ?:ROFLMAO:
Quite....... @Clive and I are busy cooking up humorous replies to :reel: the holy brigade but most of the ones we thought of would have probably resulted in a ban. Funny, though. Possibly an afternoon spent drinking margaritas had something to do with it.......:whistle2:

Id bet a lot of money there isnt one single person on this forum that hasnt broken a speed limit at some point !
Of course. Clive and I simply read the thread and saw a good first trip out. Then decided in the usual manner to have a bit of fun.......

Of course we do tend to drive at 80mph ourselves to lessen the chance of being gassed...

I am not saying I don't do 80 where allowed. in fact the mrs has told me off more than once for keeping up with traffic and allowing the speed to creep up. the 3 litre iveco engine in a smaller fiat motorhome makes 80+ mph very smooth and comfortable

do i break the speed limits? daily at some point, but not that regularly in the motorhome
