I don't think I've ever managed to connect through FON in France.

It looks like the only way in now is either as a BT customer or an expensive pay by day/week/month customer
Cant you buy the Fon Box anymore ??

Now thats wishful thinking.

No I got rid of my BB at home so just use Fon and iboost. :)

I thought the FON system was only available if you had a broadband package at home

That is for BT anyway, are FON's not just BT?

It is nowadays David, I bought one of the last Fon routers before they stopped selling them.Best £30 ever :) I believe you can still buy the for router on eBay.com or occasionally on eBay uk but don't know if they work. My neighbour has my Fon router plugged in and I then am able to use my boost and connect to a nearby btfon.

Its somehow a better connection than connecting to my neighbour who is on talk talk.

I've got a fon router at home, and can use my daughters BT info...but still can't access wifi using these in France.

I managed to get on in France, Spain and even going up the cable car in Madeira...for a few seconds. Only knew when I started getting whatsapp messages coming through.

Might add for anyone who hasn't seen my loads of posts, I am on bt broadband and fon should work in France , it works fine in uk but France ,not a peep.
This is not to be confused with the proper FON router which I am sure works fine.

I use fon every day from my house in France. My neighbour is connected to SFR and I understand that unless they opt out their landline automatically allows Fon connection. My i Boost is stuck on my upstairs window.

I'm wondering if the Fon partners like BT, SFR etc only allow connections from their own subscribers whereas the folk like me with just a Fon box can log onto a Fon anywhere.

Just a thought.

That's the point, no complaints about fon, it's btfon that's the problem

And this just drives home to me how lucky I was to gave spent the £30 for a box less than a month before they withdrew them.. My iboost and Fon have slready paid for themselves. :D
