Bridge height!! (1 Viewer)

Hi

Has anyone ever been to on the A615 to Matlock in an American RV?
If so, how did you get on with the 13'5 bridge?

Booked to go to a campsite there soon and need to get a 12'9.5" RV under the bridge, oh: which I know is under the height limit, but it's one of those old bridge's where you have got to be totally lined up in the middle to get under!!!

Yes I do, coming from the A38 end.

If you are coming in from the A38 you could use the A610 to Ambergate and turn right along the A6 to Matlock. l have driven artics with containers on the back along this road many times. You will have no problems this way. l think that the A615 is useable but its a more twisty road, you should clear the bridge with no problems, hit it square on (between the markers) and you will get through.

Hi Anita I live Alfreton area & have been under that bridge with a 13'4 machine on the low loader,you should not have any problems at your height,as you say it's one of the old arch bridges.I usually flick the lights onto main beam cos on the other side cars approach from a left hand bend & it just registers with them that you are coming through in the centre of the road:thumb:

Our first time out with the van was at the Hurt arms in Ambergate,the balloon flights go off from here 1st thing in the morning.
I wonder if a lot of you remember the first time out.

Hi

Update on bridge height.

We did go under it Eek!: RV was 12'8"......but it went under easy pessy.
Not even his CB ariel on the top of the roof caught it. oh: :thumb:
