Cross-Channel travellers have been warned to expect disruption on Monday with lorry drivers set to join a protest calling for a section of the refugee Jungle camp in Calais to be destroyed.

Shopkeepers, police, unionists and farmers are set to join hauliers in the northern French town after talks with politicians on a potential timetable for the camp's destruction failed to satisfy the protest organisers.

Oh well, supposed to be on EuroTunnel from Calais to UK at 07:50 on Monday morning. We'll go well stocked with supplies and see what happens. No use getting stressed about it; we'll sit and wait until we can get to EuroTunnel

Anyone know how to get to the EuroTunnel check-in from City Europe without using the A16?

Nothing to do with the actual thread but for some reason my iPad won't open that link, says its unsupported.

Wife reports of trouble at Calais with rocks & logs being thrown to stop vehicles so that they can climb on. Bloody injuries etc. Anyone else seen any reports like this or seen any evidence. Supposedly near the port as opposed to Eurotunnel but they're not too far from either as far as I can see.

Setting aside the point of refugee v economic migrant for a moment, surely if people are committing acts of violence such as using Molotov cocktails and throwing stones at windscreens then the French authorities should be acting to prevent them.

The EU gave Cameron no concessions when it came to benefits given to incomers, thus Britain remains the magnet it is, and now Britain is blamed for the migrant crisis. Would the French Lorry drivers like to be paid a bonus for every person brought in?

What a state of affairs. .

How on earth has it been allowed to come to this?
Miles and miles of razor wire and anti climb fencing. ..the stench driving past is horrid.
Then when you go by the tunnel there's more fencing.

It's time to sort it out.

Pull the "jungle" down (god I hate that word) and educate these people on the merits of coming the UK legally.

In amongst all this shit there is women and children in desperate strife. This is being made worse by the economic migrant who believes the UK is some honey pot when it isn't.

Why do these people just not claim asylum in France and get housing?

May be an amnisty is required insisting on all those there to claim asylum and if they don't then the next day...arrest those that refuse and work on sending them back to there country of origin..
