Nice one. I have used Driverguardian for this 2 month trip. £99 for the year with 3 month trips abroad included. I am glad I did. I broke down in Sweden and then in Germany. Both times on the motorway (same problem twice).
They attended within 1 hour and got me started again.
It took longer to explain my location that it took them to get there haha.

I have always used RAC in the past but they wanted too much for my 15 year old baby £283.
The £99 I paid driverguardian includes home start, 1 hour at roadside to try and repair it, recovery to a garage, hotel accommodation, recovery to my home in UK if it is irreparable.
I think I got a proper bargain.
The breakdown guy in Germany said if I was paying it would be a 400 Euro minimum payment to get me off the motorway.

My understanding is that Rac only went up to 3500kg and 7m ...?

Maybe wrong but seen it on here as well...?

I don't usually give any info out if I'm not sure... So I checked, I can't find anything in their terms and conditions that states they cover over 3.5t... I would love someone to show me otherwise but I'm sure I can remember someone on here that got cought out with the Rac that couldn't recover the vehicle because it was bigger then 3.5....

I hope I'm wrong but wouldn't want to see you stranded..

I could be wrong but wasn't it the RAC that failed to help the two ladies in a motorhome on a motorway here in the uk? The ladies were taking a number of show dogs to a show and broke down on their journey. From what I remember, an articulated lorry smashed into their vehicle on the hard shoulder, killing several dogs and breaking one of the ladies legs. The breakdown vehicle had attended the motorhome but could not help. I can't remember why but someone will no doubt remember.

Yes I saw that but couldn't find any limits, glad you called them and put both our minds at rest....(y)

Sorry to give you concern but I used to work in the industry and its fraught with pitfalls.

By the way I'm with comfort, but know quite a few go with driver guardian...

Have a good trip..

You are quite right BUT
Under the RAC arrival scheme there are no limits on size or weight
but you do have to be a member of CCC as well, they will ask for CCC membership proof
I had my 7.5 ton 36ft RV (See pic Below) recovered from Malvern one year

Check what level of cover you have especially for abroad were covered with RAC through aviva and the dark side but £35 per person doesn't get you a very nice hotel in the summer its that or you can have a hire car for 1 week
