You are in Rome and want a satellite.

No Sir, you want a psychiatrist.

No, please read again. We are NOT in Rome, we won't be in Rome for THREE DAYS. Got it! We will be beside the sea for the next THREE DAYS and would like to see the news when we get up in the morning.

When we get to Rome we will be too busy having lunch with the Pope's wife to watch TV.

You are by the sea approaching Rome and you want a satellite ?

No Sir, you want a psychiatrist.

You should enjoying the views, enjoying superb food with a bottle or two of superb local wine, there's nothing good on the news.

Since 2008 & many years tugging
Hot bird or Astra 1 will give you news channels and if you are lucky you will get the odd film in English with foreign sub titles.

Well Brian my old boy, you have learnt a lesson today. We are all different!

I am perhaps older than you, I find at the age of 76 (in two months) that it is a good idea to keep my brain ( what is left of it) interested in the world and what is going on.

I find that a nice breakfast look out over the countryside is great, I then shower and as i am getting dressed I catch up with the news. I then go out for as long a day as my age will let me, coming back to get ready for a nice restaurant for my evening meal. I have done that now for 7 weeks in lots of places in Europe.

Pray tell me you young wipper snapper why do I need a psychiatrist?

Anyone who would travel in Italy and need a satellite has a problem. They are just missing the point of it. Immerse yourself in Italy.

Like 5 to 6 miles a day walking, sometimes in Towns and City, sometimes in the countryside. Cos that's what we do. Immerse I have been up to my neck in it. 50 days traveling, over 5000 km walked my legs off. So how do you " immerse" yourself in it, because it seems I am not quite doing enough.

As I said, pray tell.

After all that you have said, I don't think that I do bad for almost 76 years young. Oh and when I am at my house in Spain I walk about 3 miles every day.................and after all that walking, I sit down an watch the tele.

And you?

Last trip we managed to get Astra 2 as far as Parma ( where they invented ham and hard cheese ), but then only radio channels for another 50 miles southbound before contact died. Same on the way back - nowt until Parma.
