With a modicum of trepidation, in whispering tones and with no bias to either side (and there will be more than two methinks) I pose the following question...

At the show will Fun be adopting a policy of segregation?

Now I don't mean for those who have dogs or those with children or even those with toads.

No.

I mean those who have the facilities for and the desire, need and want to (and we all have the desires, needs and wants sooner or later)...

Use Generators.

So I believe the question is "will there be a noisy boys corner" for those that want to generate and inhale in their own fumes without others bothering them.

Not a bad idea really;)

I put up with somebody using a stinking, noisy, generator for several hours more than he should have at Lincoln last year. If it happens again this year I don't think I will :)

Relax Graham I'm not there this year. (y)

Yes those who are so out of it, they left their inhibitions at home and started the Karaoke going and got louder and louder until the GENERATOR got pulled, then they stagger passed talking or singing for England(other countries may be used).
HOWEVER, I do seem to fall into 6 on the list above so I shell keep away from the others. When my old van had flat bettery I pulled over to the far end about 70yard and ran ther engine, then I bought a generato. After that I bought a solar panel and a second battery and never needed the generator again. FOR SALE KIPOR 2000!! quiet and useful for those without hook up (ALL)

we carry a generator, for emergency use as we need to have enough electric for John's CPAP overnight. Since having a second battery fitted we have used it once, that was when a light in the garage had been switched on by something moving. about the only bulb that I hadn't changed. Bulb now removed. With fair sunlight we can manage 5 days off grid. Waiting to see how we fair in the winter as one of the leisure batteries is outside under the skirt and does not like the cold.
Wont say how many of the above catagories i fit into, but exclusion of any type of funster is frowned upon isn't it @movan and floras

How sweet

I haven't seen the sort of trolling where someone asks an intentionally contentious question then plays no part in the ensuing discussion for years now.

Makes me feel almost nostalgic. I wonder if the OP posted it from a ZX81 or an Amstrad twin floppy...

Where they are allowed we allow genies between 9am and 9pm. But only for a couple of hours in that time. We expect members to be good neighbours and not run them for long periods or during mealtimes. If you need to run one for longer than a couple of hours then speak to the rally marshal who will do his best to park you to ensure you cause the least annoyance to others as possible.

Amplified Music on the rally field these days is always off by latest 2330 and has been for quite a while now.

That said don't choose rally fields as a place to get a good nights sleep. The Fun field rarely is. :)

It's only a weekend.
With the exception of some medical equipment, why is a gennie needed?
Surely leisure batteries can last that long?

Just curious.

Use solar panels and an inverter.
Not all people want or can have solar panels. There's enough time during the day to charge by generator if that's their preferred option. The people that definitely need to use their Gennys usually have a very good reason for doing so.

And just as an addendum, this thread reminded us that we haven't been to a rally this year, so we are just putting pen to paper on the booking forms as we speak.
Our generator will be in the van just in case the sun doesn't do its job over the weekend :D
