We have to take Grandson away this weekend, aargh, not the grandson but the bank hol weekend.
So we're off to Blackpool, another aargh, so as we are not as mobile as we were once had to find a site, resort, timeshare, found a site at cost of a timeshare!

£162 to rent a bit o land for three nights, granted it does have some things the little fella can do, bar, pool etc. But £162!!!!!!!!!!!

£100 in fuel, so it's going to be a bit of a costly weekend.
Little fella won't want motorhome food, just burgers, fried chicken, baked potatoes, ice cream etc £sass more, another aargh!

Passes for a 3 person family to pleasure beach is another £70.00
What I don't see is why you can not buy it cheaper when only one young one is going to ride anything.
I do think they could charge an entrance fee for non riding accompanying adults.

No wonder we never normally go anywhere in the UK on a BH. But this time circumstances prevail.

What about the 3C's temporary holiday sites? You have to be a member, but they used to have one at Windy Harbour holiday park near Blackpool around this time of the year.

We went one year, nice place and pretty cheap, well run laid back marshals.

You have not said the age of said grandson..
May have found Southport a better option, lots to do if there are a bit younger..

The fellas 11, so thankfully no bar tab apart from J2O if we go for a beer, that I may need.
We went for somewhere close to centre as we don't want to take MH into Blackpool at 8m, short bus trip into centre

Overnight parking opposite the stadium. Think it is £12. We only used if daytime but a few pubs are happy for you to overnight in them. Pleasure beach will always be a rip off so long as there are mugs to pay.

I don't know your situation @Autowbars but you appear to be very generous. I wouldn't be that nice under most circumstances.

Good for you, I'm sure you will have a great time and emerge feeling years younger - and in need of another holiday!

Weather forecast isn't too bad, perhaps a few showers on Sunday.

I did look for "overnight parking" but was concerned that on a BH weekend it would be full, not available, can't let fella down

You will be creating wonderful childhood memories for your grandson which is priceless. I remember my grandmother taking me to the fair. She must have gone and got change for the rides. She had a purse full of two shilling bits and I thought she was amazingly wealthy. Obviously not. But it is a lovely memory that has stayed with me for about 60 years. Its all got to be worth it for that. Isn't it?

If your not going on the rides at the PB you can buy a wrist band for £5 (was that price last year) this allows you to get into the park but not the rides.

Well, back home, skint, aching, NO hurting, the little bigger had me on a couple o bone braking rides, on another got totally soaked.
Still say TOO expensive, I reckon with tickets to PB, site fees, fuel, incidentals etc it cost about £700 for three nights, and we did not eat out!
Or drink out from one pint o crap ale on the site.
My rule for years has been never go anywhere on a Bank Hol.
But needs must this one.

Engine management light came on during the outgoing travel, but all working fine, as you don't need much power in a 15 mile traffic jam.

When leaving today that went off as normal then service light came on, had a full service less than 1000 miles ago, will be contacting the firm in the morn as they obviously did not connect Diagnostics properly, I was shi77ing me Sen all the way home.

Little fella loved it so it was worth it, glad I'm the boss as work in the morn will be VERY difficult for me, delegation on the cards.
I HURT ALL OVER.

It was well worth it, he did not want his phone, iPad, or Xbox.
Preferred bubble blowers, cycle hire, toy gun, badminton set that the one and only shuttlecock went on the MH roof with ten minutes, talking, or chatting as he says, chicken nuggets and chips, chicken nuggets and chips AGAIN, walking with me along the front, looking, but not much buying in the shops, but his eye was taken by an Armani watch !!!!!!!
Ideas above his station that little fella has.
