Odometer and towing (1 Viewer)

Hi all,
A quick question for you all,

Does the odometer (mileometre) on a ford KA (2002) still clock up when being towed?

Easy answer, tow it for 2 miles and see if it has!

It it is front wheel drive and on an A frame, it will not.

Thanks Peter,
I am going to see the car on monday (it has an "A" frame fitted) with a view to towing behind the motorhome and was just wondering if the mileage was with towing or without.

As far as I know mechanical speedos clock up while towing, digital don't ..

My Fiat Seicento clocks up on tow..

My old panda definatly clocks up.
Damn things done 70000 miles since 1989.

course you could learn where the cable goes n disconect it. was easy on a v w beetle front hub remove a c clip and push cable in . some frontwheel drives its easy to get to cable. dont forget double tyre wear n all that. worse i found was a puncture on a toad could end up with a damaged wheel not easy to monitor on big m,home. have fun. cheers alan.

no logic there Peter,oh:

front or rear wheel drive, the wheels are still on the ground and turning with an 'A' frame so will clock the miles unless its an electronic/digital speedo.

Digital odometer on a Smart car doesn't clock up so probably other digital ones don't either.
