I’ve seen a couple of lists on here, packing lists that cover the personal stuff, an extract from an App that lists everything from BBQ tongs to pillows … what I’m looking for is a list of the basic stuff that in a perfect world would come with every van but in reality is probably your first proper shop. I’m talking for example –
  • Electric hook up cable
  • Gas / gas bottles
  • Gas spanner
  • Kettle
  • Hose pipe
  • Tap adapters
  • Gas tap adapters
  • Bucket / Watering can
Can anyone point me to such a list or add stuff on this thread and I’ll update this post to help anyone else happening along.

I was thinking that it might be a negotiating point with a Dealer when buying new as presumably many of them have shops that stock this stuff?

Thanks (y)

Hose pipe.
Tap adapters
Gas tap adapters

Definitely need hoses and an assortment of tap adapters although I know some use a watering can. I bought a cassette hose which I thought would be brilliant but in actual fact I've only used it a few times. It is useful on those odd occasions when you can't get near the actual tap. I also have a short length of ordinary hose that will reach from most taps to the other side of the van. This one gets used most of the time. Also an adapter to connect the two together is occasionally useful.

Of course the main items are Beer, wine and whisky glasses, corkscrew and bottle openers. :) oh - and of course the consumables :)

Low - but previously a full timer in my caravan
With regard to hosepipes, always make sure they are food quality tubing as some ordinary hose will really taint your water!
