Bought a 600 converter for the van.It has heavy wires to connect to battery.Is it best to wire permanently to LB(2x 110a + 80a solar) or fit a 12v plug to plug in when needed?Intend to use to charge laptop and possibly E-bike battery/fans.

I have mine with fixed wiring and isolation switch. An inverter will use some power on "tickover" even if no power is drawn.

that is how I installed mine which is a 200 watt PSW

NB..the guide is for a 300 watt inverter.. consult the chart on the guide for cables to suit your 600 watt unit which draws 50amps

ie.. cable size is 25mm for up to 1.5mt length

To fit a plug and socket you will need one capable of handling 50 amps minimum.

Are you suggesting an isolation switch in addition to the inverter's own on/off switch, or as an alternative, such as when the inverter itself is in an inaccessible position?

only way to plug that in would be those plugs they use for jump starting cars whose name has escaped me
googles your friend they are called anderson plugs
