A zipped file of calais2garda2010.axe.
The route from Calais to Garda and beyond for the May 2010 meet at Garda.

I've done this route, it works. Maybe a few tolls to pay but it gets us there. Need the Swiss Vignette too.

The only bit I don't like is through Milan, it looks like a few miles could be saved but at what price ? Would the SS roads just cost us in delays ?

since 2006 ( I think ! )
We have been to Rovereto ( 15 clicks off the north end of Garda ) every year for ages now..

We go straight through Germany and Austria, going through the Reschen Pass..
Cannot think of a single toll road that way.. and of course the Austrian Vignette is only €7 as opposed to the swiss robbers who want €20 for a van and another €20 for a trailer :Eeek:

Travelling time is 18 to 22 hours .. Sometimes we do it in one hit but more usually break it down in to two days of relaxed rolling

If you are interested Brian, I can mail you the route mate.. But if you just do it and add Karlsruhe in to the mix, with Ulm and Kempten as well, then Reschen and Garda it should all work fine ::bigsmile:

1994 and beyond...
Italian tolls are not expensive? a fraction of the cost of French ones......cant remember exactly:Sad: but at each booth the charge was normally 3 euro or less probably not more the 15 euro...but thats a guess! cant remember:cry:

may I respectfully suggest an alternative route?. Calais - Lille - namur - Luxembourg - metz - and then same as Brians

no tolls and cheap fuel in Luxembourg

Thanks but not this time. My neck is on the line, so I want to offer a proven route, it's only fair.

Well when I say proven I mean I've done it so the buck stops here.

That is worth looking into, I've seen it recommended a few times by the regulars who like to save a few bob. French tolls can add up to serious money if you're not careful.
